Here at The Laser Co we found ourselves in a bit of a quandary recently. You see, laser cutting can produce a certain amount of hazardous fumes that are not necessarily the kindest to our dear planet. Because our impact on the environment is important to us we take precautions where possible and make ethical choices when it comes to choosing material and working with suppliers. Even so we have been wondering if we could be doing more to offset our environmental impact.
We recently signed up to the Carbon Neutral scheme, which help organisations to minimise their impact on the environment by working with them to measure, reduce and offset greenhouse gas emissions. We have joined their Plant-a-Tree initiative which serves to sequester carbon, reduce soil salinity, combat wind and water erosion and restore habitat for native animals through biodiverse conservation plantings using trees and shrubs native to the region.
We make deliberate decisions in every part of our business and try to have the least possible impact, from packaging orders to sourcing materials and managing waste – there’s always room for improvement – Liz, Design Director
It’s something we’re very proud to support and be involved in, and by working with us, you can have piece of mind that you are having a positive impact on the planet by planting trees every time you laser cut!
